Senior Living Complex Opens In Layafette Hill, With Precautions

The 124,000 square foot community features 125 apartments, and owners say they are taking precautions to prevent coronavirus transmission.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A large new luxury apartment complex is now open in Lafayette Hill.

Atria Senior Living, located on 9303 Ridge Pike, features 124,000 square feet of space and 125 different apartments. A total of 100 of them are for independent and supportive living, while 25 are within a Life Guidance memory care community, designed specifically for individuals wiht Alzeheimer's or other cognitive impairments.

While the ongoing coronavirus crisis makes it a difficult time for any business to get off the ground, Atria said they were confident they could do it safely.

“We are prepared with detailed COVID-19 safety and protocol measures in place and have adapted our ability to allow safe connections and interactions between residents, alongside virtual options with family members," Kevin Ronk, Atria's senior vice president, said in a statement.

Atria said they'd development infection control and safety protocols to apply to all new move-ins.

Highlights of the facility include their "Engage Life" program, which includes live music, organized volunteer efforts, pottery classes, writing workshops, and more. Several of the programs are designed to be socially distant.

The facility is close by to Wissahickon Parks, and includes walking paths that with views of the woods. They're also pursuing LEED certification by adding several green design elements.
