Woman, 61, Sold Heroin 150 Feet From Elementary School: Reports
In a statement released on the district website, Tredyffrin-Easttown Superintendent Richard Gusick sought to ease parents' concerns.
Following reports that the 61-year-old Tredyffrin woman charged this week with selling heroin had lived less than 200 feet from an elementary school, both police and education officials have stated that the accused “no connection” with any nearby students.
Lynne Twaddle, of the 800 block of Pugh Road, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, criminal use of a communications facility and other offenses.
Her home, set back from the road on 1.7 acres of wooden property, is just 150 feet from the access road that leads to New Eagle Elementary School, according to Philly.com.

In a statement released on the district website this week, Tredyffrin-Easttown Superintendent Richard Gusick sought to ease parents’ concerns.
“The District will continue to implement and extend safety measures to promote greater security in our schools,” read the statement. “Such measures include but are not limited to buzz-in systems at school entrances with video capabilities, external fencing, improved locks on classroom doors, external window signage, and updated emergency preparedness procedures. Additionally, we continue to provide age-appropriate educational opportunities and support programs across the curriculum for students to learn about the negative consequences associated with illegal and prescription drug use and abuse.”

Twaddle’s arrest, at approximately 11 a.m. Tuesday at her home, was reportedly the culmination of a four-month investigation by the Tredyffrin Police Department and the Chester County Municipal Drug Task Force.
At the time of her arrest, officers reportedly confiscated at least 80 baggies of heroin and a pistol. Over the course of the undercover investigation, police secured about 250 baggies of the drug.
