Alligator Gar Fish Found In Radnor Pond: Police

A dead alligator gar fish, common to the Gulf of Mexico and Midwestern areas, was found dead in a Radnor pond recently, police said.

WAYNE, PA — Police in Radnor said a terrifying-looking fish was found in a Radnor pond, about 1,000 miles away from its natural habitat.

According to police, an alligator gar fish was found in the pond at Fenimore Park this week.

A resident found the fish, which is common in the Gulf of Mexico and Midwestern area, dead in the pond.

Police said Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission officials said the fish was unable to survive in such cold water.

The fish was turned over to the commission for preservation and education.
