I-95 Ramp to Blue Route Closing Tuesday Night
PennDOT is working to improve the connection between northbound I-476 in Delaware County to I-95.

The northbound I-95 ramp to northbound I-476 and MacDade Boulevard will be closed and detoured from 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, for the installation of concrete barriers and the painting of new traffic lines, PennDOT announced.
The work is the start of PennDOT’s plan to improve the Interstate 95 connection with northbound Interstate 476 in Delaware County. The improvement project is designed to enhance travel along northbound I-95 by providing additional capacity on the exit ramp to northbound I-476.
PennDOT will expand the off-ramp to two lanes at its connection with I-95 north to allow more vehicles to access the ramp and reduce backups that currently occur on the northbound I-95 exit lane.

During the ramp closure, northbound I-95 motorists wanting to access northbound I-476 and MacDade Boulevard will exit the expressway using the Ridley Park (Exit 8) interchange.
From the off-ramp, drivers will turn left onto Stewart Avenue, and left at the ramp to I-95 south, and follow I-95 south to the ramp for I-476 north and MacDade Boulevard.

As part of the project, PennDOT also will restripe part of the I-95 South off-ramp to I-476 north to merge ramp traffic into a single lane prior to its connection with I-476 north.
The project also includes line painting, relocating concrete barriers, applying a high friction surface treatment to the I-95 north off-ramp, and installing new highway signs and solar powered raised pavement markers.
