Delco Coronavirus Cases Dispersed Across Age Groups

Radnor Twp. reports an average percentage of coronavirus cases per population, and county cases are not discriminating by age.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — The number of coronavirus cases in the Delaware County by age is remarkably close across age groups, from adults in their 20s through their 60s, according to the Delaware County Health Department. Delaware County has also seen around 1,000 cases in each category, and also for people in their 80s. People in their 70s are lower in numbers, with 693 cases in Delco.

The lowest numbers by age are for those under age 19, at 205 cases.

The county health department reported a recovery rate of almost 83 percent for Covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, with 41,077 negative coronavirus cases recorded and 7,475 testing positive, as of July 7.

Radnor Township has reported 201 cases and 23 have died in the township. The percentage of cases per the population is relatively low in Radnor Township, at 0.63 percent, according to the Delaware County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough has had the highest number of case as a percentage of its population, at 3.71 percent, with 41 deaths. Darby Borough, at a 3.35 percent case rate reports 358 cases and 35 deaths. Middletown Borough's case rate is 3.24 percent, with 516 cases reported and 146 deaths, the most among Delaware County municipalities. Rose Valley Borough has had the fewest cases, with only one coronavirus case and no deaths reported.
