Delco Touts 83 Percent Coronavirus Recovery Rate Ahead of July 4

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Independence Day is nearly here, but the coronavirus isn't stopping for our nation's birthday. So what are the latest figures out of Delaware County?

As of Friday, the county has seen just shy of 7,300 cases with 7,299 reported ahead of the holiday weekend.

Of those cases, 2,399 have been nursing home residents. Additionally, nursing home residents account for 563 of the 702 total virus-related deaths in the county.

To date, Delco has received 37,761 negative coronavirus test results and has an 82.81 percent recovery rate.

Upper Darby has the highest case count of all Delaware County municipalities with 1,198, while Middletown has the most deaths with 146. Yeadon has the highest percentage of its population with the virus of all municipalities, with 3.73 of its 11,471 population having the virus.

The locations of 267 cases and 14 deaths are not listed.
