Election Day In Radnor: What You Need To Know Today

General Election Day 2020 is today and those voting in person should check their polling place before heading out.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Today is General Election day across Pennsylvania, with a historically contentious presidential race represented on our ballots, and three state races.

It's important to make sure you know where you are voting this year. Some polling places have changed due to the pandemic. If you're not sure where your polling place is, use this online tool to find out where to vote.

Polls will open today at 7 a.m. Voters can cast ballots up until 8 p.m.

Local races matter to everyone, as our senators and representatives steer legislation and determine spending. Here is an overview of who's on your ballot:

Radnor Township is include in Pennsylvania's State House of Representatives District 165, presently represented by Jennifer O'Mara (D-165th). O'Mara's candidate profile in response to a request from Patch, can be viewed here.

Incumbent O'Mara is challenged by Republican Robert Smythe Jr. A profile for Smythe can be found on the Delaware County Republican Party website.

In the Pennsylvania State Senate District 17 race, Democrat Amanda Cappelletti and Republican Ellen Fisher are vying to replace sitting State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-17th), who lost the primary in June.

In Pennsylvania's 5th Congressional District, incumbent Mary Gay Scanlon (D-5th) is seeking reelection. Scanlon is opposed by Republican Dasha Pruett.

In addition to a vote for President of the United States, voters will select candidates in three state-level offices; Attorney General, Auditor General, and State Treasurer.
