Kids Art Lessons Come To Wilson Farm Park Pavilion, Or By Mail
A local art teacher made a way to teach kids outside, each at their own picnic table, or on video with a cool art kit.

RADNOR, PA — Arts classes for kids are about to open at Wilson Farm Park. A series of six themed events starts July 28 in person, but outdoors, with an alternative Art Kit and video classes to do at home. Classes in both forms are taught by Radnor resident and certified art teacher Tessa Downs.
For kids 5-10 years old, Art Kids registration is open now for the Wilson Farm Park classes. The first small classes will meet under the park pavilion. Kids will have 2-hour art class time, three days; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday July 28, 29, 30 from 9-11 a.m. each day.
Parents can register their children here. The July 28-30 Art Kids event is themed around National Parks. Coming in August and September are classes built around Castles and Dragons, Outer Space, The Zoo, Under the Sea, and Famous Artists.

Art in the Park by Art Kids is a drop-off, in-person weekly art lesson event that functions with awareness of COVID-19. Classes are limited to eight children, and each child will work at their own picnic table, according to Downs.
Downs says she is passionate about teaching art to children. She holds a degree in Photographic Arts from Drexel University a K-12 teacher certification in Art, from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.

A cost of $175 includes the three classes and a weekly art kit with five additional projects to do at home. The art kit can be picked up at the Gryphon Cafe in downtown Wayne, Pa., on a designated date, or it can be mailed to a student's home. To accommodate for space limitations, the Art Kids kits can be purchased separately with access to the video lessons.
