Marriage Applications Now Available Online In Delco
Couples getting hitched in Delaware County can now speed up the application process thanks to Delco's new online application system.

Couples who are looking to get hitched now have a tool that will make their pending nuptials simpler to get done.
The Delaware County Clerk of Orphans’ Court launched online marriage applications on Monday, Aug. 13
Couples who live in the county can now complete marriage applications online and submit them to the County before coming to the office, expediting their visit.

"We are excited to add this service for our constituents," said Mary J. Walk, Clerk of Orphans’ Court. "Our office realizes that time is valuable and we want to assist local couples as much as possible. Residents can now complete the application in the privacy of their home and then just arrive at our office with the necessary paperwork to sign and process the application."
Despite the online application, both applicants still must visit the office in person to be sworn in and to be issued the actual marriage license, officials said.

There is a three-day waiting period from the date the license is issued before a couple can be married.
The Delaware County Clerk of Orphans’ Court is also planning to offer kiosks in the office that will let couples to start their applications when they arrive if desired, especially during high volume times.

The Register of Wills Office located on the 1st Floor of the Government Center, 201 W. Front St. in Media and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
