More Roaches, More Problems For Closed Radnor Restaurant

Yangming is experiencing more troubles, following its closure over the weekend due to what officials have called a "major infestation."

Radnor restaurant Yangming is experiencing more troubles, according to reports, following its closure over the weekend due to what officials have called a “major infestation” of cockroaches.

As township officials descended on Yangming, an award winning restaurant renowned for its Chinese cuisine, they reportedly found outdated electrical wires and plumbing, expired and moldy food, mouse and rat traps, and yet more cockroaches, according to Main Line Media News.

Township workers reportedly pulled all of it from the restaurant, which may not be serving any customers any time soon.

Radnor Township Police Chief William Colarulo said the restaurant was “nowhere close” to a condition that would allow it to re-open. Township Manager Robert Zienkowski told the owner that the management staff “should be fired within the next five minutes,” reported NBC10.

Officials have also stated that they have seen evidence to suggest that the restaurant had been dumping grease down the drain.

It reportedly all started when a girl having lunch with her parents on Friday found a roach in her Thai noodles and complained. When the waiter brought her another plate of noodles, it turned out that dish, too, contained a cockroach.

Clearly distressed, the parents rejected the restaurant manager’s offer of a gift certificate in addition paying for their lunch, and instead called the police. When officers arrived, they, too, reportedly saw the offending insects.

Eventually, the Radnor Community Development Department responded to the restaurant, shutting it down over the “major infestation” found in the kitchen, the report said.

The restaurant temporarily reopened on Tuesday, but was later shuttered at same day once again when Radnor Township Health Inspector Larry Taltoan found additional issues.
