Radnor Middle School Is Site For Free Meal Pickup

Kids who live in Radnor Township School District can sign up for lunch and breakfast through the USDA program extended through Dec. 2020.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Any kid in Radnor Township School District can get breakfast or lunch, even if they don't attend a RTSD school.

The only requirements to pick up free lunch and breakfast is to be under 18 and a resident of the school district, under the United States Department of Agriculture program.

The Radnor Township School District announced this week the USDA extended waiver of the nationwide program that continues the Seamless Summer Option for school meals through the end of the year.

Meal pick-up will be every Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Radnor Middle School bus loop. The school is at 150 Louella Ave., Wayne.

The grab-and-go style bags will contain one breakfast meal and one lunch meal for each school day. Monday's bundle will include three lunches and two breakfasts and Wednesday's will include two lunches and three breakfasts.

The meals comply with the nutritional standards set by the National School Lunch Program. They include cereals or grains, proteins, milk, fruit juice, fresh fruits and vegetables. Some meals may need to be heated at home, and they come with instructions, and might need prompt refrigeration or freezing.

Anyone interested in picking up meals can email Beth Cooke at beth.cooke@rtsd.org to sign up for the program. Those who do will receive a confirmation email telling them the date of their first scheduled pick-up.
