Radnor Township Calls State of Emergency For Pope Weekend
Schools to close early on Friday, September 25, open late on Sunday, September 28

Radnor Township has announced a State of Local Emergency for the weekend of Pope Francis’ visit to the region.
The Township’s Board of Commissioners Thursday voted in favor of a resolution to declare the State of Emergency Sept. 24-27. It was declared, the Township said, in order to “carry out such emergency operations necessary to protect the health, safety and resources of Radnor Township.”
What does the State of Emergency mean? The National Guard will be on hand in town, as previously requested by Delaware County. And it also affects the schools.
