Repaving Project Will Slow Traffic On State Routes In Weeks Ahead
PennDOT will repair and resurface state highways in Philadelphia-area counties.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA –Road resurfacing will close lanes across the Philadelphia region in the months ahead. PennDOT announced this week it will repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. PennDOT said workers are milling the existing roadway surface and repaving sections of state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
Work on these projects will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, according to a media release from PennDOT. The protocols will include social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job site, special signage and relevant training.
