See How Radnor Businesses Are Handling Coronavirus Outbreak

Some places are closing, others are offering limited or to go service due to the ongoing new coronavirus crisis in the region.

RADNOR, PA — Various businesses in Radnor have shut their doors or shifted their business models as state officials have implemented strict actions to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf on Sunday ordered all restaurants and bars in Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties to close their dine-in facilities as of Monday.

Additionally, all non-essential retail businesses in Delaware County have been told to close. This includes gyms, theaters, malls, salons, entertainment venues, and community centers. Essential retail, like pharmacies, grocery stores, gas stations, and healthcare facilities, will remain open.

In Radnor, businesses are reacting to the order and to the local outbreak of the illness.

Christopher's: A Neighborhood Place said it is offering take out only following Wolf's order.

As of Monday, the North Wayne Avenue establishment said it is only offering take out and delivery.

"Thank you to everyone who is sending their support to Chris and I and our staff," the business said on Facebook. "We are lucky to live and operate in such amazing towns of Malvern and Wayne."

Main Point books, also on North Wayne Avenue, is closing.

"All of our events through the end of March are cancelled," the book store said. "However, this does not mean that we will not be at the store to take orders via the web or phone, and we are happy to ship or drop off books free of charge."

The store said it will send out staff recommendations on social media every day it is are closed.

Additionally, Main Point Books will drop off a wrapped book at their door with a note to for customers looking to give a pick me up to someone they know.

"We are grateful for all of our loyal patrons and friends who continue to support small businesses during this challenging time," the store said.

Currie Hair Skin and Nails on West Lancaster Avenue is closing, along with all its other locations.

"After our earlier announcement we received some great feedback from our staff/guests and have decided to close all locations until further notice in hopes to help play our part in the fight against COVID-19," the spa said online. "The safety of our guests, team members, and surrounding communities has always been our main focus and continues to be going forward."

Customers will be contacted by staffers to rescheduled appointments for the week of the March 16 to March 22.

Louella, located at 227 Lancaster Ave., said Saturday that it is closing for seven days. The closure also affects the Malvern and Avalon, New Jersey locations.

However, Louella said on social media that it will offer curbside pickup and delivery.

The Goat's Beard in Wayne said it will not close, but that it will soon offer delivery through Postmates, Uber Eats, and Doordash for patrons who want to avoid public spaces

"We have increased our already intensive daily cleaning and sanitation routine and we have escalated the frequency of disinfecting and sanitizing high-touch surfaces," the restaurant said on Facebook. "We are confident that our teams are well equipped, prepared and responsive as we continue to monitor and enforce guidelines put forth by governmental organizations."

The Manayunk location is open, as well.
