Thunderstorms, Hot Temps This Weekend In PA

The last weekend in April might feel more like July at times, especially Saturday when temperatures will reach the mid-80s.

It may be warm, but you're probably not going to want to go outside much this weekend.

Pennsylvanians should expect a warm, but stormy weekend as temperatures are expected to reach the 80s, and thunder and lightning could rattle much of the state.

No alerts have been issued yet from the National Weather Service, but thunderstorms are expected to start Friday night and last throughout the weekend.

The storms will be an extension of some severe weather that's expected to primarily hit the Midwest.

An active jet stream and increasing warmth and humidity will clash in classic late April fashion Friday through at least this weekend, according to The Weather Channel.

This next system comes right behind a midweek disturbance that brought severe storms to portions of the South and Midwest. This late-week robust weather system will fire off more severe weather from the southern Plains into the Midwest later Friday, and will then slowly shift toward the Northeast this weekend, according to The Weather Channel.

With a cold front slicing into the East, The Weather Channel said it couldn't rule out a few strong or severe thunderstorms on Sunday and even Monday.
