Upper Merion Community Pool To Close Following 'Lengthy Legal Proceedings'

The township has assumed control of the pool, with plans to re-open under new management.

It’s not the best time of year to close a community pool, but at least it’s after the recent heat wave.

Officials in Upper Merion have announced that the township has regained possession of the community swimming pool located at 431 Valley Forge Road, with plans to re-open the site under new management.

“Lengthy legal proceedings have led to the eviction of its tenant and the pool’s temporary closing on Wednesday, July 22, 2015,” read a statement from the township. “Township officials recognize that swimming is a favorite residential pastime, especially for families, so ensuring that the pool grounds and its operations are safe for public use is the township’s top priority. Officials are asking that the public be patient during this transition as they look forward to the pool reopening soon.”
