Villanova U. Reports 24 Student Covid Cases, Requires Isolation
Half the cases were residential students, half were non-residential, as Villanova University keeps watch.
RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Villanova University reported 24 Covid-19 cases between Aug. 17 and Aug. 31. Half of those were among residential students, and half were non-residential student.
No university staff reported testing positive for Covid-19, according to Villanova's Covid-19 Campus Dashboard. The dashboard web page does not include testing and results completed prior to the return to campus.
Just under 10 percent of the university's isolation beds designated for quarantine and isolation have been in use. If a student or other campus community member tests positive for Covid-19, they must monitor their symptoms while they stay at home or isolate on campus for 10 days.

Persons who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 must quarantine at home or in campus isolation for 14 days, as they monitor for symptoms.
Villanova University said it is committed to transparency as it communicates information pertaining to COVID-19. The university said its dashboard is "a source of information for members of our community to remain updated on the most accurate COVID-19 data related to our campus."

Villanova University's undergraduate population is just under 7,000 students, its total enrollment about 11,000.
