One of Delaware County's finest was laid to rest Saturday, March 24 after he tragically died on March 19 while off duty.

Newtown Township Police Sgt. Clinton Cunningham was just 37 and leaves behind a wife and four children.

A fundraiser launched for the family has generated nearly $160,000.

Cunningham collapsed while working out at a local gym Monday, March 19 and was taken to Bryn Mawr Hospital where he later died from the hemorrhage.

He was a five-year member of the Newtown Township force and previously served with the Philadelphia Police Department for nearly 10 years.

Cunningham was recently voted by his colleagues as Newtown Township's 2018 Walt Wolff Award recipient for Officer of the Year.
