Yangming Hopes to Re-open in "8-10 Days;" Township Says No Timetable

Renovations ongoing at popular eatery, shuttered last month due to roach infestation

Yangming, the popular Main Line eatery shut down August 18 after an “active infestation” of roaches was found on the premises, doesn’t not yet have a timetable for reopening, a Radnor Township official said, although a representative of the restaurant itself told news media Wednesday that they hoped to reopen in “8-10 days.”

“The restaurant remains closed while renovations are on-going. When the owner feels that all of the necessary repairs have been completed, we will perform an inspection,” Kevin W. Kochanski, Radnor Township’s Director of Community Development, told Patch Wednesday afternoon. “A timetable has not yet been set.”

However, on Wednesday night NBC 10 reported that Yangming management hoped they could re-open in “8-10 days.”

After the initial closure, more violations were reported and Radnor Police Superintendent William Colarulo described the situation as “a disgrace,” though Colarulo told the Inquirer August 30 that the restaurant could open as soon as the following week.

Yangming apologized on its Facebook page August 24, vowing that “we will renovate, refurbish, renew and refresh our establishment,” and that “we hope you will give us another chance to gain your trust.”
