DEVON, PA — The 2020 Devon Horse Show and Country Fair has been canceled, according to organizers.
In an announcement made Monday, officials with the event said this year's show and fair have been canceled due to the new coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic.
The 2020 show would have marked the 124th iteration of the event.

Officials said this is only the second time the event was canceled. The first time was a three-year hiatus during World War II.
In the announcement, officials said the decision was made independent of agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and the United States Equestrian Federation.

While the 2020 show is canceled, organizers said next year's show is still planned to be held as normal.
