Friday night, on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a 9/11 Heroes Run will be held in Chester County.

The West Chester race, part of a series of 9/11 Heroes Runs that will take place throughout the region this weekend, starts at Chester County Courthouse in West Chester. The event will feature both a distance 5K and a one-mile fun run.

The runs- also taking place in Philadelphia, Doylestown, Valley Forge, Pennsauken and Feasterville- are conducted to benefit the Travis Manion Foundation, named for the Naval Academy graduate who grew up in Doylestown and was killed while serving in Iraq in 2007.
