'Stoga Teacher Who Drank on Job Gets Alternative Probation
Former Conestoga High School teacher Carol Wittschieben collapsed in a chemistry lab in December after drinking alcohol from a water bottle.

The Conestoga High School teacher who hid alcohol in a water bottle and collapsed in class while intoxicated has been placed in an alternative probation program, according to the Daily Local News:
Carol Wittschieben, 43, was admitted into the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program Tuesday for charges of disorderly conduct and recklessly endangering another person. The chemistry teacher was charged in connection with a Dec. 10 incident when, police say, she was found passed out in a laboratory prep room while her students waited for her in another room.
Wittschieben told EMTs who responded to the school in December that "she is an alcoholic who had been consuming alcohol throughout the day via a water bottle in her purse," according to court documents.
The ARD program could lead to the charges against her being expunged, as TE Patch reported:

If Wittschieben meets all the requirements of a first offenders program (ARD) the charges will be dropped and her record expunged. If she fails to meet the requirements for the first offenders program the orginal charges would be re-instated. This is a common way for many first time misdemeanor case to be resolved.
Wittschieben resigned from the district shortly after the December incident, according to the Daily Local.Â
