Valley Forge Road to Close for Trail Construction

The close begins Friday; a detour map is attached to this article.

A section of Valley Forge Road in Devon will close Friday as a new bridge is added for the Chester Valley Trail.

The section of roadway between between Swedesford Road and Old State Road will be closed as crews install a pre-fabricated pedestrian bridge, according to a Chester County press release:

All traffic will be detoured to Old Eagle School Road via Swedesford Road and Upper Gulph Road. [...]
Barring unforeseen developments, construction of the Valley Forge Road Bridge is expected to be completed by Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.

A pedestrian culvert was recently installed farther east on the trail, closing South Warner Road in Wayne. The Friends of Chester Valley Trail group posted photos of the culvert on Facebook.
