Berwyn Fire Co. Performs 3 Water Rescues During Monday Downpour

'Turn around, don't drown,' fire official reminds drivers.

Berwyn Fire Co. responded to three vehicles stranded in water during Monday's heavy rainfall.

The three water rescues were performed at the following intersections:

  • Arlington Road and Berkley Road
  • Lakeside Avenue and Lancaster Avenue (pictured)
  • Eastbound Church Road off Sugartown Road

"Turn around, don't drown," was the practiced advice Berwyn Fire Co. Assistant Chief Eamon Brazunas offered to drivers. "Seek high ground and wait to drive your car, or you will risk getting trapped in swift water."
