The boyfriend of reporter Alison Parker, who was shot to death live on television Wednesday in Virginia along with her cameraman, Adam Ward, has local ties to Tredyffrin-Easttown School District, according to Philly.com.
Chris Hurst, a graduate of Conestoga High School and himself anchor at the CBS affiliate WDBJ7 in Roanoke, Virginia – the same station where Parker was a reporter – took to Twitter to express his grief.
“We didn’t share this publicly, but @AParkerWDBJ7 and I were very much in love,” he wrote. “We just moved in together. I am numb.”

Ward’s finance also had local ties to the Delaware Valley, according to the report in Philly.com.

She grew up in Gibbstowns and graduated from the School of Performing Arts at Gloucester County Institute of Technology in 2007.
In addition, she graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and interned at 97.5 the Fanatic and NBC10, the report said.
