The death of a man whose body was found lying in a road in East Bradford Thursday night has been deemed a homicide.

The death of a man whose body was found lying in a road in East Bradford Thursday night has been deemed a homicide, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

The deceased, identified as 17-year-old West Chester resident Cristian Santiago, had been shot, read a statement from the DA.

“This was not a random act,” said District Attorney Tom Hogan in a statement Friday afternoon. “The victim was targeted. We have developed strong leads and physical evidence. We are confident in making an arrest soon.”

West Chester police responded to the 700 block of Hillsdale Road in East Bradford Township at approximately 10:20 p.m. Thursday, after a passing motorist reported they had seen what appeared to be a body lying on the side of the road. Police at the scene were able to identify the victim.
