Dumpster Fire At Nudy's Cafe Put Out Without Building Damage

A dumpster fire on Swedesford Road was put out before it spread, one of 16 incidents handled by Berwyn first responders last weekend.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Berwyn Fire Department responders extinguished a dumpster fire at Nudy's Cafe, preventing damage to nearby buildings.

It was one of 16 fire and EMS calls handled by Berwyn first responders last weekend, in the Tredyffrin-Easttown community, the fire department reported.

A fire began in a large dumpster at Nudy's Cafe on Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township at 5:23 p.m. Sunday. Berwyn Fire Department firefighters put out before it could spread to structures not far from the dumpster. Tredyffrin Township police also responded to the incident.

Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) was notified of the need inspect a nearby pad-mounted transformer that had been exposed to heat from the fire, reported Berwyn Fire Department.

As the fire incident at Nudy's Cafe was being put out, Berwyn EMS responded at 5:26 p.m. to an injured person at the Glenhardie Condominiums off of Drummers Lane, according to the fire department.
