Easttown Kids Salute First Responders
Students thank police and firefighters for their service.
In honor of Martin Luther King Day students at Beaumont Elementary School in Easttown invited first responders from Easttown Police and the Berwyn Fire Company to a special assembly to say "thanks for your service" Friday.
In recognition of Martin Luther King Day the students at Beaumont collected coins at home for good deeds and services that they complete. The coins were collected each day at school. The money collected is being donated to the police and fire departments. The students madethank you cards, posters and banners, and sang songs and presented skits in their honor.
The police (who are headquartered directly across the street from the school) and firefighters gave students tours of a fire engine and the department's "stealth" patrol car.
