The ninth annual 4th of July Bike Parade & Picnic is being organized by the Easttown Township Parks and Recreation Board, and sponsored by Penn Liberty Bank.
Registration for the parade begins at 10:15 a.m. at Johnson Park on Bridge Avenue, and the parade starts at 11 a.m. Last year, more than 280 children rode in the parade. The Picnic runs from 11:30 a.m. to  1 p.m. in Johnson Park.
Aside from the parade, the event will include:
- a moon bounce
- face paintingÂ
- tug-of-war and other games
- eating contests,
- water balloon toss,
- watermelon-seed-spitting contests
- street art
There will also be a vintage, 1960s-era Good Humor ice cream truck, handing out free frozen treats. Children will also receive a flag pin and patriotic gifts package, compliments of Penn Liberty Bank.Â
Berwyn Fire Company will close the event, per tradition, by firing a canon shot of water over any kids who could use some some liquid relief from the heat.
According to Toscani, the event is meant to be old-fashioned fun, and the organizers ask that everyone, including candidates, leave their politics at home. To see the event flyer, visit the Easttown Township website.
