FLITE Awarded Record Grant to Help T/E District Students
The Foundation for Learning in Tredyffrin and Easttown helps TESD students with needs in many areas.

The Foundation for Learning in Tredyffrin and Easttown has been awarded the biggest single grant in the organization's history. The $43,209 donation came from Berwyn-based Vertex, Inc. a corporate tax company.
According to the FLITE website, "FLITE, a non-profit educational foundation, serves preschool through high school students year-round in Tredyffrin/Easttown. FLITE raises money to fund programs designed to ensure that students with financial or environmental barriers have the tools and support they need to meet academic expectations. FLITE works with the T/E School District and community to identify areas of need and support programs that increase the opportunity for academic success."

Vertex Inc., the leading provider of corporate enterprise tax solutions, recently awarded a generous grant to the Foundation for Learning In Tredyffrin/Easttown (FLITE). Funds will be used to support several of FLITE’s programs that provide academic support for children in the T/E School District, including College/Post-High School Preparation and Planning Workshops, Summer Learning Programs, and Classroom Innovation. The $43,209 donation is the largest in the foundation’s history and was made as part of the PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit (“EITC”) program.

Vertex is a privately held Berwyn-based company, employing more than 800 professionals in eight locations globally. Its significant gift to FLITE is part of Vertex’s commitment to supporting children in T/E and the surrounding community through education. Jeff Westphal, President and CEO, and his sisters Stefanie Westphal Lucas, Director and Amanda Westphal Radcliffe, Director, who are co-owners and board members of Vertex, are also Conestoga High School graduates and generous community supporters.
“Vertex believes strongly in supporting organizations that strengthen the local community, particularly through education,” said Jeff Westphal. “For some local children, a little extra educational support can make a significant difference. Vertex is happy to partner with FLITE to help fund these programs.”
In receiving the grant from Vertex, FLITE Board Chair Meg Born noted, “Vertex is widely-recognized as an outstanding local employer with a strong corporate commitment to a variety of educational charities. We are proud of our partnership with Vertex, which will enable us to continue to provide important academic programming for local children in need.”
