Classes are underway and the hot water is flowing in all campus buildings at West Chester University, following the discovery of Legionnaire’s disease bacteria caused a health scare over the weekend.

The school had turned off the hot water in nine buildings, treating the hot water systems to kill the bacteria that causes Legonnaire’s disease, after it was detected in those buildings.

According to 6ABC, the remediation efforts proved successful, and the hot water was turn back on Sunday.

In July, an employee at the school tested positive for Legionnaire’s disease, a higher-than-acceptable level of the bacteria was discovered last month in cooling towers in eight campus buildings.
