Ice Causing Big Problems Sunday Morning in TE

Dangerous road conditions despite the sunshine are keeping first responders running.

The sun is shining now but the damage is done from Saturday night's heavy snow, sleet, rain and ice.

The Berwyn Fire Company report more than 20 incidents in just over 20 hours since the snow started falling at around 3  p.m. Saturday.

Berwyn Assistant Fire Chief Eamon Brazunas says among the calls that Berwyn has responded to since Saturday afternoon were:

  • A townhouse chimney fire in Chesterbrook
  • A car crash with fire at Sugartown & Newtown Roads in Easttown
  • Assisting Radnor Fire Co. with building fire
  • Mutlipile downed wires and transformer fires
If you do not need to drive Sunday, especially on neighborhood streets emergency responders ask you to stay home in order to let salting and sanding crews work more efficiently and safely.
