Maryann Piccioni is running for a board seat in Region 3 of Tredyffrin/Eastown SD, bringing public fundraising and foster mom experience.

Pennsylvania's Primary Election is May 18. Maryann Piccioni is running for school board director in Region 3 in Tredyffrin/Easttown School District. The mother of four who's also been foster mother to seven children said she's gained insights into how to address post-pandemic issues in students.
Terms expire in TESD Region 3 for Tina Whitlow and Mary Garrett Itin, neither of whom is listed as a candidate for reelection.
She explained why she is running for election.

Family: My husband Mike (Amedeo) and I have been residents of Easttown for 36 years. We are proud parents of four children. Camilla, Annamarie, and A. Joseph are graduates of Devon Elementary, T/E Intermediate, and Conestoga High schools. Elizabeth is a graduate of St. Norbert Catholic School and Conestoga High School.

Education: Temple University, Bachelor of Business Administration
Occupation: Constituent Services Advisor for State Rep. Kristine Howard in our 167th Legislative District
Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office: Elected Democratic Committee Person Easttown E2, Precinct 198
Why are you seeking elective office?: I have listened to parents, teachers, and school administrators who hope for a healthy recovery from the pandemic, and a safe and speedy reopening of our schools and extracurricular activities. As we move forward, I am dedicated to providing the most conducive environment for student achievement and to protecting our taxpayer dollars by ensuring program strength.
The single most pressing issue facing our school district is: The pressing issue is identifying and addressing any academic regression resulting from the pandemic. I intend to utilize the training that I received when my husband and I were foster parents for seven children through Catholic Social Services. We have cared for children who have experienced emotional and developmental distress, as well as loss of security. These insights will be invaluable as I work with the skilled teachers, administrators, and School Board members to ensure T/E schools will meet these challenges.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?: As the former Development Director for the Easttown Library and Information Center, I managed the successful $4 million Rebuilding Campaign to support a new home for our library. My experience with community engagement, donor participation, and municipal and grant funding will advance my work with the School District.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform: I am committed to building resources to ensure that curriculum standards are maximized as well as committing to financial accountability that provides students with the top-notch education they deserve.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?: I was honored at the Easttown Tricentennial celebration as Paoli’s Noteworthy Citizen for my work with neighborhood youth. My continued involvement as a community volunteer has demonstrated a long-term commitment to building a strong District.
