Two Officers Join Tredyffrin Police Department
Officers William Czaplicki and Michael Birney were sworn in May 13.

The Tredyffrin Twp. Police Department is pleased to announce the swearing in of two new officers this past Monday evening, May 13, 2013 at 7:30 PM. Magisterial District Judge Analisa Sondergaard of the Chesterbrook District Court presided over the process during the Tredyffrin Twp. Board of Supervisor’s Meeting in Keene Hall.
Officer William Czaplicki, 28, most recently a corporal with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office, where he served for over three years with specialties in Incident Command Systems, has an Associate’s Degree in Emergency Management and Planning. Czaplicki is a graduate of the Delaware County Police Academy.

Officer Michael Birney, 33, is a United States Marine and has served combat tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Birney previously worked for the West Chester University Police Department as well as Brookhaven Police Department. Birney also is a graduate of the Delaware County Community College and Police Academy. Birney is the President and co-founder of “Addison’s Ball, a charitable organization for adolescent congenital heart disease which benefits research efforts at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Tredyffrin Twp. Police Superintendent Anthony Giaimo thanked the Board, Community and the members of the Police Department for their continued support during this process.

Tredyffrin Twp. Police Superintendent Anthony Giaimo stated, “Both Michael Birney and William Czaplicki are excellent new officers and will be a welcomed addition to our police department and the Tredyffrin community.”
