Name the New Bridge at Valley Forge Park
The name of a pedestrian bridge expected to open in 2015 will be decided through a contest.

The National Parks Service announced this week that Friends of Valley Forge Park is holding a contest in which the public can suggest names for the park's pedestrian bridge, expected to open in 2015.
The 14-foot-wide bridge will span the Schuylkill River, connecting South Trooper Road to the Betzwood Picnic Area. Construction is set to begin this winter, according to the NPS.Â
The old bridge was demolished in 1995 for safety reasons, according to the NPS. Pedestrians currently use a narrow sidewalk on the nearby Route 422 bridge.Â

The name of the new bridge should reflect the history or natural setting of the bridge, according to the Friends group:
The public is invited to submit their ideas online or in person at the Valley Forge National Historical Park Visitor Center. Â The contest will continue throughout the summer, ending on September 1, 2013. Participants may submit multiple entries for the bridge name, however the names of living persons, organizations, businesses, and corporations will not be considered. Â
The winning entry will be announced Sept. 28 at the park's National Public Lands Day event.Â
