Nighttime Lane Closures on Route 202 Continue Next Week

Road crews will continue working on the replacement of sections of concrete pavement.

Motorists traveling on U.S. 202 between the Chesterbrook and Route 401 interchanges in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland townships will face nighttime lane closures next week for roadwork, PennDOT announced Thursday.

Crews will work at night, and into mid-morning next Saturday, to replace sections of concrete pavement that were not accepted by PennDOT, and complete miscellaneous work on signs, structures and drainage components in the six-lane section of U.S. 202 that was substantially completed last year.

Weather permitting, lane closures are scheduled on northbound and/or southbound U.S. 202 on Tuesday, May 26, through Thursday, May 28, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Lane restrictions also will be in place on northbound U.S. 202 between the Route 29 and Chesterbrook interchanges from 8 p.m. Friday, May 29 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30.

PennDOT opened nearly four miles of U.S. 202 to six lanes between the Route 252 (Swedesford Road) and Route 401 interchanges last September. The highway was rebuilt and widened under a $105.4 million project that began in April 2011.
