One Died In Last Week's Crash That Closed U.S. 202
A man died in the Dec. 28 vehicle crash that shut down U.S. 202, as police reported the death of a passenger riding 'outside' a truck.
MALVERN, PA — A man who was riding "outside" of a Dodge pick-up truck was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 202 one week ago, police have reported.
Tredyffrin Township's Superintendent of Police announced in a special news release the crash had been fatal. The fatal accident happened in the area of mile marker 21.2 on southbound U.S. 202 on the morning of Dec. 28. Police arrived just after 7 a.m.
The police report of the accident scene described a pick-up truck damaged on its back end and a Honda Civic had heavy front-end damage.

Police said they are currently reconstructing the accident.
Three passengers inside the Dodge truck were uninjured, police reported. The police report said the man who died had been "outside the truck at the time of impact." Patch has requested more detail concerning this description and will update this report if police provide any further information.

Police said the man who had been driving the Honda Civic remained at the scene as police arrived and he was later taken to Paoli Hospital and treated there.
All lanes were reported closed on southbound U.S. 202 in the area of the Chesterbrook Blvd. exit early on Dec. 28. The crash closed south lanes until 1:15 p.m., police reported.
Tredyffrin Township police said an investigation of the accident is ongoing, and therefore the names of those involved are not being made public.
