Report of Gunshots Leads to Paoli Man's Arrest

Police say a search of the man's home turned up extensive firearms and drug evidence.

A Paoli man is in Chester County Prison awaiting a preliminary hearing after an incident last week involving gunfire and drugs, Tredyffrin Police say.

Tredyffrin Police say Eric Matthew Feninger, 43, was arrested after neighbors near his residence on Minor Avenue near West Central Avenue reported hearing gunshots around 4 p.m. on Wednesday (October 30). Police responded to the call where they came across and arrested Feninger.

Police executed a search warrant at the same location.  Police say their search turned up evidence connected to the discharge of a Kimber 45 caliber pistol, holsters, and magazines.

According to police even more evidence was found in the house that police say connects Feninger to the distribution of marijuana. A wide variety of drug paraphernalia was also recovered, according to police.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Officers from nearby Willistown and Easttown Police Departments were also called in to assist at the scene.

Tredyffrin Police Superintendent Anthony Giaimo said “these reckless activities show a complete disregard for the safety and well being of our community and will not be tolerated.  Officers, detectives and command staff acted quickly and professionally to quell this dangerous situation without any injuries”.

Police say "Feninger is charged with several crimes including: Possession of an Instrument of a Crime, a Misdemeanor the first degree; Recklessly Endangering Another Person, a Misdemeanor of the First Degree; Possession of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance, Misdemeanor; Possession of  Drug Paraphernalia, a Misdemeanor; Disorderly Conduct, a Misdemeanor of the Third Degree and Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, a Misdemeanor of the Second Degree."

According to police, Feninger is in Chester County Prison on $20,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in District Court in Chesterbrook Friday morning for a preliminary hearing on the charges.
