Shusterman Leads Over Walters In PA House 157th District Race
Incumbent Melissa Shusterman is 19 percentage points ahead of Brian Walters in the race to represent Pennsylvania's 157th House District.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Votes are still being counted in the election for representative in Pennsylvania House District 157, but incumbent Rep. Melissa Shusterman (D-157th) remained ahead most of the day, showing strong lead by late afternoon.
Shusterman (D-157th) is seeking reelection in the 157th District. County reports Wednesday afternoon showed her with a lead of 19 percentage points against Republican Brian Walters.

With the vote count underway but incomplete, the Chester County elections website showed Shusterman ahead of Walters late into Tuesday night, and her lead growing overnight and throughout the day Wednesday.
At 4:15 p.m. Walters had 40 percent of the counted vote, garnering 10,222.

Shusterman had 59 percent of the counted vote this morning, with a total of 15,052 votes at 4:15 p.m.
Pennsylvania's voter information page reported this morning that Chester County had counted 38 percent of mail-in ballots. It said just under 90,000 remain uncounted this morning.
PA House District 157 includes Tredyffrin Township, Schuylkill Township, Upper Providence Township and three wards in Phoenixville.

In 2018 Democrat Shustermann beat out Republican Warren Kampf. In that race, Schustermann garnered 56.6 percent of the vote and Kampf claimed 43.3 percent.
Members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives are elected to two-year terms, but there are no term limits.
Shusterman, 53, is a Conestoga High School graduate and worked in video production before she ran for office. She said she ran in 2018 to challenge the "good old boys' club." She has focused on getting pandemic relief to families in her district.
Walters graduated from Phoenixville High School. He has run a family business and ran with a focus on Law and Order. He was Schuylkill Township supervisor for 11 years.
