IMPACTS...GIVEN THE CONTINUATION OF VERY COLD CONDITIONS ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA, THE SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE IMMEDIATELY. THE START TIME OF THE SNOW SHOULD AFFECT THE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING COMMUTE. UNTREATED ROADS AND WALKWAYS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED, RESULTING IN AREAS OF HAZARDOUS TRAVEL.
Snow is likely, mainly after 3 p.m., according the the NWS forecast, with a high near 21. Most of the snow is expected to fall before midnight with an overnight low of 20 and accumulations of 1-2 inches.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Tweeted Thursday: “We aim to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice & snow. A few inches of precip. is needed before we can plow.“
So the evening commute could be a slippery one.
