Spy-Themed Film Fest Benefiting Easttown Library

You can catch some classic flicks about espionage while benefiting the Easttown Library in February at the "Bond and Beyond" film festival.

BERWYN, PA — "Bond. James Bond." The iconic line from Ian Fleming's classic spy series is still a pop culture phenomenon and you can catch Bond and other spy flicks at the Friends of the Eastttown Library's annual Friends Film Festival.

"Bond and Beyond" is the theme of this year's festival, which runs from Thursday, Feb. 21 through Saturday, Feb. 23.

This film fest features thrillers with stars such as Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, Frank Sinatra, Angela Lansbury, and of course Sean Connery.

Martinis — shaken, not stirred — and other refreshments, door prizes, games, and raffle baskets, will be served during the festival.

West Chester University history chair Dr. Robert Kodosky will discuss the Cold War and the rise of James Bond and other spy stories at the festival's close.

Weekend pass holders will also receive a ticket to "Casablanca" at the newly-renovated Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, as well as with a private tour of the historic cinema.

Weekend passes cost $25 go on sale at the library and online on Feb. 1.

Seats are limited and pending availability, individual event tickets will be sold for $10 at the door.
