T-E School District Reports Its First COVID Case

On Friday evening the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District COVID Dashboard listed 1 case for the week of Oct. 12-16.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Tredyffrin-Eastown School District began a phased moved into hybrid instruction on Monday, and on Friday night reported a case of COVID-19.

The district's Pandemic Coordinator, Chris Groppe, Ed.D. on Oct. 12 issued a note to parents explaining the process of reporting and tracking COVID-19 cases, reminding them that persons who have been in contact with a person who has COVID-19 will be contacted.

"We may not be able to provide specific information about every case, including any personally identifiable information," Groppe wrote.

However, the message told parents, "It is important for you to know that in the event you are believed to be a close contact of the positive COVID-19 case, the Chester County Health Department will contact you."

The district also posts instructions for steps to take for persons who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

Students who selected the hybrid learning option started returning to school Monday for in-person instruction on a staggered basis beginning with kindergarten, elementary, fifth grade, ninth grade and one cohort of tenth grade students. The remaining middle and high school students who selected hybrid learning will begin attending in person by cohort next week.

The district's student enrollment is just under 7,000 students, with 1,067 staff.
