TESD Board Voting Tonight On Move To Integrated Instruction

A school board vote this evening will likely bring students back to classes in limited numbers, by Oct. 12.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Tredyffrin-Easttown School District will likely resume some in-school instruction beginning Oct. 12, if the TESD board of directors approves the plan in tonight's meeting.

In the proposed plan, on any given school day about half the students will still be learning remotely, and the other half — by alphabetical last name — will be in class. The groups will swap their days of remote and in-school learning.

The plan for "Transitioning to Integrated Instruction" can be viewed in the superintendent's report, beginning on page 10.

Tonight's proposed plan includes an option to remain in virtual learning. Families who choose the virtual option will participate virtually five days a week, through at least Thanksgiving, according to the report from TESD District Superintendent Dr. Richard Gusick.

Following the guidance of the Chester County Health Department in late August, TESD did like other districts in Chester and Delaware counties, and began the year in all-virtual instruction until Oct. 9.

The school board is expected to approve the plan for transition to the new instructional model in a meeting that begins tonight at 7:30 p.m. The link to the meeting will be posted on the TESD website by 6 p.m.
