Heat Advisory, Air Quality Alert Issued For Friday in TE

A heat wave is expected to hit the Philadelphia region Friday, with temperatures hitting the mid-90s.

Temperatures in Tredyffrin/Easttown and the rest of the Philadelphia region will climb to the 90s Friday, the National Weather Service warns.

The advisory cautions that the heat index will reach between 90 and 95 degrees between noon and 8 p.m.

An air quality alert activated Thursday remains in effect for Friday.

Ground level ozone levels may reach unhealthy standards. Children, asthma sufferers, residents with heart or lung diseases, and elderly people are susceptible to negative effects as a result, the NWS said. These residents should avoid strenuous activities and exercising outdoors.
