Tredyffrin Citizens Police Academy Holds Graduation
21 township residents cap off a fall of once a week classes that included getting CPR/AED training and certification.
It is one of the best way to learn what police officers do and what's involved in the daily task of protecting and serving Tredyffrin Township.
The 14th annual Citizens Police Academy wrapped up its 14 week session Tuesday at the Tredyffrin Township Municpal Building as members of the Class of 2013 met to receive certificates and mark the end of a learning experience that department officials hope will help promote continued cooperation and understanding between the department and the public.
According to a press release from the Tredyffrin Police Department "various sessions included patrol procedures, criminal investigations, tour of the “911” center, SWAT, accident investigations and integration with the local Fire/EMS community. Students departed the program with a CPR/AED certification that will allow them to serve the community in which they live.
Superintendent (Anthony) Giaimo commented, “This program has brought about a greater sense of connectivity between the residents and those of us that serve them. I hope that this program provided the participants with a greater perspective on the first responder community. Additionally, I commend Officer Larry Meoli and all of the officers who worked so diligently to make this 14th Citizen’s Police Academy an enjoyable program and a great success.”
