Tredyffrin Police Arrest Man Who Assaulted Train Conductor
Man accused of attempted theft from and assault of SEPTA conductor was arrested Saturday

A man was arrested Saturday and charged with assaulting and attempting to steal from a SEPTA train conductor while on a Paoli-bound train.
According to a SEPTA spokeswoman, the assault took place on the Paoli/Thorndale line, just after 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, near the Daylesford train station.

The conductor saw a man, identified as Ryan Snyder, going through his personal bag and confronted him, leading to a physical altercation. The accused thief got off the train but was soon picked up by Tredyffrin Township police.
The man was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, robbery theft and narcotics violations, after police found a syringe and crack pipe on him.

The conductor was taken to Paoli Hospital, treated for multiple abrasions and released.
Thomas J. Nestel III, the chief of SEPTA’s Transit Police and a man known for using social media to help solve crimes, tweeted about the incident over the weekend:
The #Cheesesandwich hashtag is in reference to a SEPTA campaign, a couple of years ago, which told criminals that thefts on trains would lead to jail, where cheese sandwiches are served.
