Tredyffrin Police Clarify Dog Leash Guidelines

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Tredyffrin Township Police are looking to clear up any confusion the public may have about the new leash laws in the township.

Police said dogs are required to be on leash at all times.

The only area in which dogs are permitted off leash is in Teegarden Park. However, dogs are only allowed off leash in the park after owners obtain a township-issued registration tags and during specific hours.

Dog owners can get off-leash registration forms online here.

Fees for off-leash registration cost $25 per dog for township residents and $50 per dog for non-residents.

Checks should be made payable to Tredyffrin Township and mailed along with completed forms to Tredyffrin Township, 1100 DuPortail Road, Berwyn, PA 19312.

Those hours are dawn through 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, dawn and 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays, and dawn to 11:30 a.m. on Sundays.

Those hours are in effect beginning through the third Sunday of March through the third Sunday of November.

From the third Monday of November to the third Saturday of March, the hours for off leash dogs in Teegarden Park are dawn to dusk.

Violations of the ordinance can result in a fine of up to $1,000.
