Tredyffrin Police Thank Those Who Helped During Pope's Visit

Superintendent Anthony Giamo has a long list of thank yous for those who helped out during Pope weekend

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department and its superintendent, Anthony Giamo, posted a message to its website Tuesday thanking everyone in the area who helped out during Pope Francis’ visit last weekend.

Among those thanked were the Township’s police, fire and EMS personnel, the Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors, Township Manager William Martin, Public Works Director Dean Wilkins and their staffs, the fire and fire police companies of Paoli and Berwyn, the Easttown PD, Schuylkill PD, Willistown PD, West Chester PD, East Pikeland PD, Westtown East Goshen PD and Pennsylvania State Police. “Most of all thank you to the Tredyffrin Police Department (both uniform and civilian employees),” Giamo wrote. “Your dedication to duty is beyond words and your caring towards others at your own personal sacrifice is truly a testament to what the Papal Visit’s message.

“Without all of your help, assistance and support we could not have possibly managed the transportation/crowd management challenges which were presented during this historic visit of Pope Francis.”

The department also said that about 7,800 people used the Paoli train station on Saturday and 10,400 on Sunday.
