Tredyffrin's 2017-2018 Winter Program Cancelled

Low enrollment numbers and a lack of staff led the park board to cancel this year's program. But officials said it will return in 2018-2019.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – To the dismay of township residents, Tredyffrin Township officials recently announced the Winter Recreation Program for 2017-2018 has been cancelled.

According to the township, this year's program was scrapped due to a lack of staff and low enrollment numbers.

The deadline to register for the program is Dec. 9 and the announcement to cancel the program was made Nov. 9. Residents wondered if the announcement was made in error.

But officials said the cancellation wasn't an error.

Only 28 kids were registered as of the last park board meeting and few staffers were on board to work the program, according to township officials.

The board agreed to put this year's program on hold and plans to evaluate the program during the year to better improve it, officials said.

Officials said the program will return in 2018-2019, however.
