Vandal(s) Topple Seedling Trees In Wilson Farm Park
Volunteers needed Saturday morning at 8 to help replant the trees.
In what has to rank among the lowest, most pointless acts of vandalism in recent memory vandals have knocked over dozens of newly planted trees in Wilson Farm Park.
Tredyffrin Police are still searching for suspects in the case. The damage was reportedly done in the overnight hours Thursday.
Now volunteers are needed o Saturday morning to help replant and shore up the damaged trees.
Patch received this email from organizers of the replanting effort which will be on Saturday morning:
- Chuck Cutshall, co-chairman of the Tredyffrin Township Environmental Advisory Council, which coordinated the planting is seeking your help.
- All of the trees planted next to the putting green have been knocked over and many of the trees that were planted the previous year were knocked over as well. Some of the seedlings were pulled from the ground. Hopefully most of the trees can be saved by replanting.
- If possible, please come tomorrow morning, Saturday at 8:00 AM to help replant the trees. The trees affected are located by the playground and the putting green in Wilson Farm Park. We can probably use hand trowels to replace the dirt around the trees. We will also need small mallets to hammer wooden stakes into the ground.
- Thanks in advance for any time you can provide!
